Golf Betting Tips

Golf betting guide with advice on how to bet

Golfalot's renowned golf betting tips are posted here by Tuesday every week. Our tips use a point system to rate the strength of a tip. A 1 point bet means placing your usual stake, which in our case is £10. Less than 1 point and you should be more cautious and greater than one point and the tip is hot!

EU TOUR: Hong Kong Open, 20 November

The Hong Kong Open has been played at the par 70, 6,800 yards long course at Fanling for a number of years now so course form is well established. Accuracy from the tee and with approaches to the large, undulating greens is rewarded here.

OUTRIGHT: Thongchai Jaidee 0.5 pts win or place 22/1

Jaidee is enjoying a rich vein of form right now finishing tied thirteenth at last week’s Singapore Open despite an opening round 76. He will really fancy his chances on this track where his recent form figures read 7T 05, 3T 06 and 2T 07

OUTRIGHT: Francesco Molinari 0.5 pts win or place 50/1

Molinari combines accuracy off the tee with excellent approach play and the ability to shoot low, all characteristics which should serve him well here. So it is not too surprising that he recorded a top ten finish here two years ago. Although his current form could be better he did shoot a round of 66 in his fourth round at Valderrama and hopefully he can bring some of that form with him to Fanling.

LPGA TOUR: ADT Championship, 20 November

The tough but excellent Trump International golf course hosts this event for the eighth time. The event is notable for its knockout format with a cut at both 36 and 54 holes at which stage only the top 8 scoring players from round three enter an 18 hole shoot out for the $1 million first prize. It is essential here to hit the small, sloping greens but even then players face a considerable challenge in trying to read the brutish Bermuda grain. Local players based in Florida have a good record here.

OUTRIGHT: Cristie Kerr 0.5 pts win or place 16/1

As a local Floridian Kerr knows the course and, above all, the greens well. Her record here in the last five years is excellent with two consecutive top three finishes in 2003 and 2004 followed by a fourth place last year. Crucially she comes into this event high on confidence on the back of a win and four top ten places since late August.

OUTRIGHT:  Yani Tseng 0.5 pts win or place 25/1

These odds surely represent value on a player who, Ochoa apart, is arguably one of the best players on Tour this year. Having recorded a maiden Tour win and seven top three finishes this year Tseng looks to be underrated by the compilers probably due to a poor finish in last week’s event in Mexico.
